From the storyboard to the finished version

Overlay texture

I am thinking of adding a type of texture over the final version of the animation. I haven't found what I like yet but I think that such a thing will really bring the design together in a unified whole.

After I have found my character style and almost everything that I need at this moment, I am now working through the scenes one by one in chronological order. It's all really fun, but I especially like animating the balloons all over the place.

I have finally found the final version of the character. 

I am now looking at some imagery of how other artists chose to convey sadness. It's not quite what I'm looking for but it has the same gloomy attitude that I need.

Made sketches of the main character from the front and the side. It's fairly simple but this helps me a great deal. 

I'm working on the design of the main character. So far I have tried a few types but I'm not fully content with either of them

I have started animating the first scenes but realize now that the main character is too sketchy. I will try to work more on him. Also his house is too dark and he gets sometimes lost in the background. Must work on that as well

I have changed all of the backgrounds and removed the newspaper texture
